Question: Can i really seriously retire by buying and selling houses?

For example when i watch HOME &GARDEN television there is lots of shows how people buy a house in pretty ugly shape for 200 thousand and then reshape it for maximum 2 thousand dollars and see the price sky rocket to 275 thousand! Is it just a show or can this really be done! cause if this can really be done then i better start this right now and i want answers from people who know something about real estate! cause i want real answers! And ofcourse i would like to thannk you in advance!!!

It's a tough business but some people are making a living from it. Read a lot and start on a part time basis. Take seminars and be prepared to work a lot.

You are rather impolite with your demands, but I will answer you anyway. These shows are real, but just as many people lose money doing this as make money. So, if you work hard, know what you are doing, and have some luck, you can make good money at it.

If you know how to fix the house up on your own and have the finaces to do the repairs your self yes like our house in pa was 5000 dollars when we bought it

Of cause you can but, remember that in every thing you do you take a rusk. some times you can get lucky and buy and sell a house and make some money, and some times you can lose. That's a chance you have to take, no one every tell the losers stories. And a lot of the time when they are fixer uppers you have to be care full you don't spend to much that you can't get you money back in the end.

What skills do you bring to the table? If you have construction skills, you could do this, although there are no guarantees. If you have to pay for someone to do things for you, you will not make as much. You would also need an eye for which changes will make the needed impact. If this is something you think you'd be good at, try one and see how it goes. But don't quit your day job. At least not until you see if this works for you in your area.
