I want to sell my house with in the next year or two, what kind of things should I do or change?
I live in a 3 BR, 1 B, not very big. We have replaced everything in the bathroom, I will be painting it gray. My LR is a very bold color of green called " olive grove" , I love it, don't want to change it until I absolutely have to. The bedrooms and kitchen have not been painted yet all will be though. Are there any colors that I can use to keep it nutural but also not so plain while I'm still living here. I have so many cute ideas for my kids bedroom I watch the DIY channel alot , what can I do to keep it nuetral but also look great for a kid. I bought a shade of blue, kind of baby blue with a touch of grey and the tiniest bit of green hard to describe, could I use it in my son's BR and not have to repaint later only one wall others will be creamy white? What about a girls BR, I'm thinking of taking the leftover green from LR and putting it on lower 1 3 of daughters room, creamy white on top with some kind of stenciling or pattern maybe flowers, would that be to much? Any ideas?Kitchen counter tops will be replaced, cabinets refinished and new flooring currently carpet like that when I bought the house, somebody obviously wasn't thinking . Should stove and fridge be replaced about 10 years old, still in great shape, but not the high tech fancy stuff the sell these days. We will paint the garage but what about garage floor, it concrete, no stains, we don't park in it and people before us newspaper down I know sounds crazy, when I moved in newspaper was gone but sheets of plastic were still tacked up on lower half of wall in garage all the way around. All light fixtures, light switches and electrical outlets have been updated house built in 1970 don't think anything was ever updated other than windows, AC, carpet and some crappy paint jobs . What stuff stays when you sell? My main concern is doing something nice with BR while we are still here and not redoing when it's time to sell. Any ideas are greatly apreciated.

Two years ago, I had a family friend that used to be a contractor build a 2nd bathroom in my NJ house. It was added to an existing laundry room with easy access to all the plumbing..pretty simple job. The thing is I just realized that I don't think he ever took out permits for doing this. I am not planning on selling anytime soon but now I am worried that I won't be able to sell my house because no permits were taken out for this renovation. I have taken out permits for all other work done new furnace, radon remediation, A C, deck, fence, alarm system, etc What will happen when I sell?

Just sold my house!! how much should I clean?
I would of course hate the idea of leaving a dirty house behind. that's not an option.. spotless kitchen, bathrooms, walls all been painted recently anyway, just a couple of touch ups , windows sound all good and will be done but one thing i'm absolutely dreading is cleaning the venetian blinds. i think i have about 27 28 timber blinds in my house mostly long wide ones.. it kills me cleaning them normally and i'll be 36 weeks pregnant by the time we have the vacate the house in a month so here's the truth i'm trying get out of cleaning these blinds should we even ask the buyer since they're gonna yes, of course you have to clean them.. do i really have to???

I know how dear houses can be in more pretty parts of the country,and I dont really want a flat or park home.Does anyone know of any part of the country I would be happy in.I dont mind a small place,so long as it has a supermarket for when I get old.I dont really want a " retired" place,as that would make me feel old.
